Islam Mohamed El-Tantawy is the General Manager of Insights Research Organization & Solutions (IROS), part of M42. He is an experienced clinical research leader with extensive expertise in managing large-scale, multi-country clinical trials across the MENA region, including Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates.
Throughout his career, he has held senior leadership roles at renowned organizations such as G42 Healthcare, Sanofi, Clinart MENA, Novartis Pharma, and MCT-CRO, where he led complex, multi-site and multi-therapeutic clinical research programs. His work spans all major therapeutic areas, with a strong focus on operational excellence, governance, and quality systems.
Mr. El-Tantawy is recognized as an authority in European Union, U.S. FDA, and international regulatory frameworks. His portfolio includes leadership of the UAE’s largest COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial with Sinopharm, the country’s largest genomics program, and numerous multi-country Gulf studies.
His expertise covers end-to-end clinical operations, regulatory alignment, real-world evidence generation, and MENA market strategy. He maintains long-standing collaborations with leading global biopharmaceutical companies and key opinion leaders (KOLs), contributing significantly to the advancement of clinical research and innovation in the region.
